One who loves climbing challenges no matter the height;

He who loves sailing, (for the sake of sailing) has a pure heart

* 愛山登萬仞 乐水浮千舟 is cited from the corpus of 303 poems created by Han Shan (寒山 meaning “cold mountain”), a Chinese hermit poet dwelling in Tiantai Mountain during the Tang Dynasty. He is especially loved by the Japanese painters and kanshi poets, who call him Kanzan. Tourists may find some calligraphy copies of his poems in some Japanese temples; however, it appears that neither his biography nor even his real name are known.
